I am loving the sweet relationship that is developing between Cannon and Brooklyn. They will entertain each other for extended periods of time, which for me, is so nice! Cannon is very endearing to his sister and is very protective of her. We finally had to put up the baby gate so that Brooky wouldn't take a nose dive down the stairs. The other day she had crawled over to it and Cannon was sitting with her explaining that we put it there to keep her safe. He didn't know I was listening to him. He just went on about how it is very dangerous and we don't want her to fall down the stairs and hurt herself. Those are tender moments.
He has had some rather funny statements lately too. For instance;
"How did Brooky get so dang cute?"
"Brooky is the cutest B ever."
"Hi sweetheart"
and my personal fave "Where do you think you're going little missy?"
As noted below, Brooklyn has a fascination for her brothers toys. She can have a million of her own toys in front of her and if Cannon is playing cars, she wants in on the action. She prefers Mater. It is so fun to watch them. On a good day she gets to be Sally because she is Lightning McQueens best friend. Cannon always gets to be Lightning McQueen.
Cannon has a sweet, tender heart. For awhile now he has randomly said "mom, you are my best friend." I hope he remembers that when he is a teenager! Occasionally Brandon gets to be his best friend and if he wants something from grandma Chris all he has to do is bat those brown eyes and whip out a "gama, you are my BEST FRIEND" followed with a kiss and the deal is sealed!
So the other day he and Brooklyn are playing and I hear this. "Brooky, you are my best friend. I love you so much" and then a sweet little smooch! Seriously, I wish I had a video camera recording the moment. It was priceless! I know it seems like he has a lot of best friends, but trust me when you get to be the friend of the moment, you don't care because it is so dang cute!
