Last night we took Cannon to his very first Jazz game! I am sure my regular blog followers are wondering why we would even attempt such a task when he was so visibly upset at the BYU game this last fall. Two reasons, 1) it was free and 2)Brandon! Need I say more? Considering the fact that if it were possible to be married to sports he very well may have chosen that over me.
My Step-mom has a job with fabulous perks! Sporting events in suites just happens to be one of them. When they called to invite us to a game last week we were in! We asked Cannon if he wanted to go to the Jazz and he said "to see the Bear?" We obliged. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. He kept telling everyone that he was "going to Jazz with his papa and Diana." He was so excited. Some of that excitement may have rubbed off on his dad! Nah, he gets giddy for every Jazz game! Nonetheless he was stoked to be taking Cannon to his very first Jazz game.
On Wednesday night we had to make a trip to FANZZ so that C could get his game-day attire. His t-shirt of choice...
the Bear of course! He loved it so much he even wore it to school so he could tell all of his friends and Miss Amy all about it.
When we first got there he was fascinated with the players warming up and a little yellow airplane flying around the arena. He kept pointing out all of the "green chairs and there were lots and lots of two of them." (We don't really have a lot mathematics down yet.)
He was pumped that they had broccoli on the veggie tray! Weird I know but this kid LOVES broccoli. He was a little disappointed that there was no watermelon but that disappointment quickly melted away when he got his own soda out of the fridge and realized there was "pacorn" or popcorn for those of you who speak English! Just before halftime they brought in ice cream. If you thought soda was a perk you should have seen this kids face when RUSSEL'S made it's debut!
It was delicious!

I snapped this pic and Cannon quickly snapped at me, "mom get out of the way I am watching that game!" I just thought to myself "Oh excuse me, I didn't realize you were so into it!" Not really sure what Brandon is doing here, but clearly these boys were busy watchin' ball!
He went on the hunt for the Bear with aunt Millie, (or KMAILLSAP as I am now calling her due to her "had to have" jersey purchase) a time or two. No luck! He was kind of sad about that. But stoked every time he showed up for a timeout routine. He was so good during the game. I was seriously in shock because I was expecting a meltdown at some point especially since it was an 8:30 tip off and we have an 8:30-9 bedtime!
The only meltdown we experienced from this bro was that of pure exhaustion the second we got in the car. No crying, no screaming just a pure shutdown, lights out, goodnight folks, once he was comfortable.
Today he woke up, still adorned in his game day shirt, came in my room and said "mom, I weally, weally wuv the JAZZ!" I think he had a great time!
Thanks papa and Diana!
