Wicked-Awesome Skill and a GRIPE!

Since we have decided to finish our basement, we had to make way for the work to begin. While doing this we discovered just how much "CRAP" we have. Seriously, it is amazing how much you can acquire in just six years! Well rather than just throwing away of donating our "crap" I decided to take my chances with KSL. I have no experience with the classifieds and in-fact was a bit hesitant to post anything. Let me just say that all hesitations have since fled and I am now a fan of the infamous KSL.

Wednesday morning I posted a few items and sold some of them with-in the first hour of being posted. One of the things I listed was a coffee table, end table set with a couple of lamps. Keep in mind Brandon is a CHEAPO, he doesn't just want to buy stuff for dirt, he wants to sell it for as much too. I posted it for $75 and the guy came and looked at and offered me $60, I took it. You can imagine the satisfaction I got when I called Brandon and told him that I had sold the items so fast and h0w much I got out of them. He couldn't believe it, he was SO SURE I would be lucky to get $25 bucks for the whole set. I was feeling quite proud of myself.

I also listed my dad's dining room table. It is seriously beautiful but was too big for his house and probably held some bad memories (since it was a purchase made with the "EX" who is a complete spawn of the DEVIL!). We got a call on it Sat morning and today we sold it for the FULL asking price! My dad was stoked and now he can get himself a new one that better suites his needs.

Saturday afternoon I got a call for another item that I had posted, the lady wanted to come look at it but our schedules were conflicting so no luck on this item yet. So not bad, 2 out of 3 items SOLD in less than a week. I have a couple more things to post and I am excited! I am getting a bit of a thrill out of this. :)

While I know this isn't really a wicked-awesome skill, it is sure satisfying to accomplish something like that, even if it is just posting an ad and having it answered. I told Brandon I may have just found my "work from home" gig. Haha! The point of all this rambling...I am now a fan of the KSL classifieds!

Now my gripe!

So if you read my blog you know I LOVE a good deal. I could spend hours hunting one down just for the pure thrill of finding it! While I do love a good deal I am still loyal to Costco!

For one they have HUGGIES diapers cheaper than anywhere else I have seen them and I refuse to use any other diaper at this point in my motherhood. (I guess you could say I am a diaper snob! I have tried others and they just don't measure up.)
2) STRING CHEESE, best deal in town and my boys LOVE their string cheese.
now the gripe...
3) USED to have the best deal on White Albacore Tuna, wipes and DOWNEY. Notice I said USED TO! When I went the other day I discovered Costco has fallen victim to the economy. Downey is now 13 bucks for 150 loads! It was previously 195 loads! Yes you read it, that is 45 FEWER loads for the same price!

Now the TUNA, it USED to be about $12 bucks for 12 cans, well forget that! It is now 12 bucks for 8 cans. They say the can sizes are "bigger," I don't want a bigger can, I want more cans!

Finally the wipes! I am a HUGE fan of the Kirkland wipes. They are great and suite my needs just fine. They also USED to be $12 dollars. They have gone up $3 dollars. I know that isn't much but by the time you add all the price increases and the size decreases, my deal days are over!

Don't worry I will still be visiting my beloved Costco on a regular basis, I just wanted to gripe about the good deal gone bad!

Don't worry about my wicked-awesome skill, I won't go around telling people I am really good at selling things on KSL, I know it is purely a matter of LUCK, just like my good deal findings these days!
