Big Boy Room!

This was quite the project! First off, my MIL gave me this bedroom set that was one the kids, it was hunter green, dated and needed some lovin'! So I sanded it down, and with the help from my dad and his super handy man tools I painted the set with his sprayer. I was pretty dang happy with the result of my first refinish project! It seriously looks so good! Then we moved Cannon from his baby room, to the office room. My whole purpose for doing that was because there was a blue wall in there and I thought it would be perfect for C's big boy room. Then we could leave the baby room as is and hope that baby number 2 is a boy. No not expecting, just planning ahead, WAY ahead! I was having a hard time finding bedding that I liked, bought some returned it. Found a Pottery Barn that I LOVED, the price not so much! Finally found some I kind of liked and thought I could make it work! After a few weeks of white walls, and boring-ness I decided I couldn't handle it and needed to make it perfect! So, I like a FOOL, decided to start painting one night after work. This is what I came up with! It is the same color as the rest of our house, only the blue wall is now brown. I know I am crazy and my original point defeated! However it looks so much better than it did!

I had bought a valance for his room put it up and decided it just wasn't cute enough. So you can guess...returned it and with the magical talents of my mother we whipped this baby up in no time.
(There is brown ric-rac on the valance, you can see it way better in person! I'm sad it didn't show on the picture.)

So the end result is this and I think it turned out pretty dang cute! Thanks to B for putting up with my crazy home make over projects and my mom for helping to add just the right touch! Cannon loves his new room and gets so excited to show it off!

I still need to get a little coat hook to hang on this wall above the night stand

This is the bedding that I kind of liked, now I love it!

Is it too early for Cannon to have a man cave? I found him in his room like this. Funny kid! Yes that is a fountain cup and a bag of doughnuts!

So cute! I need to redo my kids rooms and have had no ambition to do it. After seeing how cute his room is, I think I might tackle the big project. Thanks for the motivation. I was laughing so hard at the drink and donuts! Hilarious.

So cute!!! I'm jealous. Evan has been in a big boy room for a couple months now with no decor. I found the cutest stuff at Tai Pan, but CANNOT find a quilt I want to match (unless I spend a bazillion at Pottery Barn, which I will not do because their prices are ridiculous to me!). Ug, I'm so annoyed. I want it to be ready before the baby comes, but times running out.

Anyway, good job on the 5k! You rock! I wanna do that, but am too fat and tired right now :) So, when IS baby #2 coming??? Did you know Malia is preggo?
