I was very fortunate that Brandon was able to take 2weeks off of work after Brooklyn was born. His job may have insane hours and require a lot of travel but every once in awhile we find a perk! It was so nice to have an extra hand around whether it be to fend of Cannon, take the crying baby or just squeeze in a nap. However, we didn't just ooh and ahh over our new addition while he was home. Here is an update on what we were doing!
Brandon spent almost every spare second he had working in the basement. With his new magical handy man talents he transformed it from this....

Cannon and Brooklyn had some pictures done at Wheeler Farm when B was home and ever since our visit he was been obsessed with "the animals" so we snuck in a visit to Thanksgiving Point. We thought we would check out the gardens and the petting zoo. He wasn't as enthralled with the animals as we thought he might be, but he did enjoy his pony ride which I was sure would be tragic! Sadly the Noah's Ark splash park was not working so we didn't explore the Children's Garden.

I think he enjoyed the cow bench the most! He couldn't get enough of it. Yes I know of all the things it has to offer he chooses the fake cow!

Cannon also got to go to Hogle Zoo with uncle Casey and his friend Ashley, who by the way Cannon is in love with and I am pretty sure he thinks Ashley is his girlfriend! He had a blast but didn't enjoy the giraffes or "cows" as he jokingly calls them. Apparently they got a little to close and have some pretty ferocious tongues! His favorite part...the monkeys! Thanks Casey and Ashley! He is still talking about it!
We also got to sneak in a couple of Bee's games. My dad's fiancee Diana gets suite tickets through work and they invited us to a couple. Cannon loved the BEE! He would look for him the entire time. What he wasn't so hot on...the fireworks! We had fun and were grateful for the invite!
My dad's fiance became his wife too! Yep we had a wedding to attend in the midst of it all. Diana is a sweet lady and we are happy to have her in the fam! Sorry no wedding pics. With two kids and a feeding every other hour, I didn't even think about pulling out the camera! We did get to visit with some family which is always fun!
Finally, we spent a lot of time loving this...

All in all Paternity leave was GREAT! We had some awesome family time, got to enjoy some fun things, finish a few projects and take time to adjust! Now it is back to normal life and we sure do miss having dad home!
