Brooklyn is now 15 months old and as of Labor Day 2011 had yet to have seen the glorious wonders of The Back of the Moon. Sadly we don't make it up to the cabin nearly as often as we should, especially considering how close it is, but on Labor Day we made the trip!
We made a day of it with Brandon's sister and her family
and the lovely Jackie Ball.

We decided to hike up to doughnut falls which is in walking distance of the cabin. It's a good thing too because I have never seen so many people up there in my life. We usually avoid the cabin on holidays because the public space, National Park area, is always chaos. This day was no different.
We parked at the cabin and hiked up to the falls. The kids did pretty good considering how much they had to walk but sometimes I swear my 4yr old is the laziest 4yr old alive. Big props to Jackie who was Batgirl while Cannon was Batman, and she needed her superhero strength because she caved to his swooning ways and carried him for much of the hike. Lucky for us Jenny and Kasey had a backpack in which Brooky baby fit nicely,
and the rest of us had to carry our lazy selves.
We made a little stop along the way to the falls....
This is the sacred place of Brandon and I's first kiss. Can I get an "ahhhhh, how sweet is that?!" Okay I know, it's a little mushy. Just be glad I didn't post the kissing picture.
We finally made it up to the falls amongst the herds of other people and tried to a get a group shot of the kids.
This is the best we got. Haha! Trust me they are all adorable even though they aren't visible!
Then we tried again at the cabin...
with a little more success!
After the falls we headed back to the cabin. Spent some time on the zip line, which Brooklyn did NOT enjoy,
Here she is in post zip line tears!
Batgirl herself with the Ball babes!
We made our way home to an awesome BBQ with the fam and then it was time to call it quits. Not bad for Brooklyn's maiden voyage to The Back of the Moon!
