The Great 50!

My mom just turned 50! I can't say she was looking forward to it but hey it's a big birthday and it is worth making a fairly big deal out of it.  For her birthday she decided she wanted to go out to breakfast to Chikfila.  Its an odd choice I know, but their chicken and biscuits or DIVINE! You would never guess but try them and you will be hooked! So good! She then decided she wanted to go out and hit a bucket of balls, you know try her hand at a little golf.  Another totally random but it turns out she is pretty dang good! I think I see golf clubs in her near future!

All the fellas! I would say they are just a tad better than the girls. ;)

Funny thing, Mike my step brother just happened to show up at the same time so he joined us for the pic, some what willingly. 

We missed Jaimie and the boys but they were visiting Jaimie's brother in Louisiana.  I am thinking the swamp boat ride complete with gator sightings was probably a bit more edgy than Mulligans.  Anyway, we missed them. 

After the mornings festivities we went our separate ways until the great surprise!  I think my mom was hoping for a low key kind of evening but hey she was turning 50 so we needed to celebrate! 

I managed to get almost all ten of us kids to dinner to surprise her. We all met up at one of her favorites, SIZZLER!

Her yummy cake and presents! Random $50 gift cards to do 50 random things.  Also a framed art piece with 50 fabulous things about her! (I didn't take a pic of it and I can't figure out how to edit this so you get what you get.)

Kudos to G for keeping the secret and for his great "storm story" to get mom there, she had no idea!!!

Yep, we are BIG group.  When you have ten kids plus spouses you take up a little space! I think it was a hit and she left a little teary eyed so I would say it was a SUCCESS!
