Christmas 2009!

This years Christmas break was WONDERFUL! We were so LUCKY to have Brandon home for two whole weeks, which if you know his work schedule that is a RARE thing! We wrapped up some last minute Christmas things, took Cannon to see The Princess and the Frog, which he loved. Went sledding with "gama," and had some good old fashioned family time.

Cannon LOVED, LOVED, LOVED sledding just not on his own. We sent him down the hill a time or two on a solo run, and he gave us the look of death only to be followed by a few dramatic tears!

I think he enjoyed sledding on Brandon's back the most. Good thing for dad's they are always willing to be a little more daring than moms.

Here is Cannon with his gama. One thing I have always loved and admired about my mom is her willingness to participate in anything regardless of how she may look or feel doing it! It has made me realize that my kids shouldn't suffer because I don't "feel good" in bathing suit, or look ridiculous in snow gear etc. Cannon sure loves his gama and we were glad she came!

Every Christmas Eve we head to Brandon's aunt house for a dinner and caroling. This year had an interesting theme...it was all Mexican, too bad I don't have pics of that. We had Cafe Rio style food, the men had fake black mustaches and the Senoritas had flowers in their hair. Then we headed back to Grandma Karen's where Cannon and Kara were showered with gifts!

On Christmas Eve we all got the traditional Pajama's, it just would feel like Christmas without them. Cannon got Buzz Light Year jammies, and that could have been all we got him because he was so excited! He walked around with his arms in the air saying "to infinity and beyond!" Only you couldn't understand that was what he was saying, parents are just incredible translators!

Here is Cannon playing with his loot from gama Karen! She SPOILED him rotten, with drums, a Ramone from cars, a top, pj's and clothes!

Christmas morning Cannon woke up to his Santa stash, silly mom only got the WHOLE DAY on the video camera and no pictures. (Mother of the year coming up!) He scored with a Mac truck from Cars, a Buzz Light Year, a Leapster Tag Jr, and LOTS more. He didn't even notice his presents when he walked in the room, he was more worried about whether or not Santa ate his cookies and milk. Don't worry he did and left only a bite behind!

We then headed to papa's where Cannon got Lincoln Logs! Good times! Remember those?! I have nothing but fond memories of them and I am sure Cannon will too!

We then continued to make the rounds and headed to gama Chris and papa Grant's house. My mom is AMAZING!!! I mean that when I say it too. Seriously if you only knew an ounce of her talents you would be in udder ah! She made all of the young grand kids these tents. I almost cried when I found out what kind she was making for C. Notice the name
"Back of the Moon."
That is the name of Brandon's family cabin. So sweet! I kept telling Brandon he was going to LOVE C's tent, and he was convinced it was either a BYU or a JAZZ theme! NOPE, EVEN BETTER! THANKS MOM WE LOVE IT!

Look at the details on this thing! There is a fishing net, a canoe, a fire, a bench, a boot, a lantern the big dipper, trees, a moon and a LOT OF LOVE!

She also made a "Ruff House" that was a dog theme for my nephew. A lemonaide stand, a bows and bones and a bugs and flowers theme for Grant's grandoaughters. She was busy! This will be a gift we will all treasure for years to come!

Christmas night we went to Brandon's moms house were Cannon got even MORE stuff from his aunts and uncles. This kid is NOT lacking in the toy, spoiled department! He got a dump truck and front end loader from the Kumps and aunt Jackie and a Mr. Potato Head and cars from uncle Casey.

The next morning we headed for a short trip to Idaho where we visited with Great Grandma and Grandpa Percival for a bit then had our annual Christmas gathering at Great Grandma Stewart's. Cannon SCORED with a sweet tool set from GG Stewart and we enjoyed visiting with family!

Sunday we headed home to begin a week of basement building! We made a lot of progress and I am SO EXCITED for it be done! Thanks Dad and B for all your hard work and help!

We spent New Years with some friends and even C baby made it up til the magic hour! He crashed as we pulled out of the driveway! We had a magical holiday and couldn't have been more blessed this Christmas season! We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas and we wish you all a wonderful 2010!

That tent is amazing! I remember having one as a child (well, my brothers did.) We had so many good times with it.
