It is official! Cannon has finally reached the age where he has a sick obsession with his you know what! YEP! I am constantly telling him to stop touching his "pee pee!" He is making me crazy because I swear his hands are ALWAYS in that vicinity. B swears it is totally normal, but I am not so sure.
You'd be amazed at the tricks he has learned to do with his new found toy! When he is in going potty he is sure to show me the trick of "stop, go, stop, go" showing his amazing, new found control of peeing on demand, complete with narration!
It can play peek-a-boo! As now we have discovered that BIG BOYS have these sweet little contraptions called "trap doors." Lets just say C doesn't hide it as much as I would like him too!
There are various other tricks as well, however I am appalled at the new fascination of this body part so I will not elaborate.
PLEASE tell me this is normal!!! If it is not PLEASE share your parental advice!!!
Finally, now that we have mastered the potty (lights on, off, hand washing etc) situation we now have a new problem.
INDEPENDENCE!
While I am some what grateful for this characteristic, like when I am laying on the couch and can't muster the energy to get up to help C go to the bathroom, I am also finding that Cannon has a secret desire to be COMMANDO! YEP! He will do his business and just "forget" to put his BIG BOYS back on, or he tells me "mmmm I can't." A favorite new phrase in the Ball house! Oddly enough he can manage to put his pants back on, just not his underwear! I am constantly finding his big boys on the bathroom floor. As of late though he has learned that if he puts them in his dirty clothes basket I am less likely to notice the commando action taking place.
Oh my, this kid is something else! I have always known he has a secret desire to be a nudist, as I regularly find him trying to take his clothes off, so perhaps I shouldn't be so surprised at the new Commando Cannon!

Yes it is normal. Girls would be the same way, but their 'stuff' doesn't come until later in life and they are no fun to play with....unless you are a guy.
Seriously, he will grow out of it, just keep letting him know what is appropriate and what isn't.....I can just see your eyeroll and {grrrrr} as you wrote this.....

Ethan did the same thing. When we were first potty training, I would always have him take his pants and undies off so they didn't get nasty, but he has continued that. The kids is 8, seriously you can't go #2 without stripping down??
He also went through the fascination with his penis. I always be telling him it wasn't a handle. Then he got to where he would put his hands in his pockets to do it. I guess he thought I couldn't tell. Luckily, that did seem to wear off.
Well Addi only wears her panties in the house... no clothes panties only... and if i let her she would be totally naked. walk in the house and 2 minutes later i turn around and there she is in her panties... heaven help!!! So at least he puts his pants back on :)
Aiden totally does the same thing! He loves to play with it and tries to get Avery to touch it too! NOT OK!

That is so funny - you made me laugh. Yes, it's normal. I hope it gets better with age. Out of my 3 boys, only 1 is fascinated by it. So there's hope. By the way I saw Brandon downtown on Monday. Fun to run into people when you least expect it. Good luck with baby #2!
Rach... I have told you many times that they NEVER grow out of it. It is a VERY important part of their lives and they are so afraid of losing it that they keep touching it to make sure it is still there. Brandon does it all the time too...but he knows to do it in private. (or does he). Let him do it now because when he is older...they can get arrested.
