Today I most thankful for this...

Old Glory and Lady Liberty!

I am not just thankful because today is an election day and as Americans we all have the PRIVILEGE to vote, though that in and of itself is reason enough to be thankful.  I am thankful because these things symbolize this great land and all that is in it, the place that we call home.  Because these things are beacons of hope, and promise and safety and security.  Because these things allow for me to be able to have ALL the other things that make my gratitude list.  Without these things where would I be? Where would any of us be? These two things bring me pride and joy.  They bring me comfort. They bring me to awe and amazement! When I read about the world in which we live there is so much sorrow, war, pain, restriction, sadness, hunger, etc.  It allows me to reflect on the fact that I am one of the LUCKIEST people on this earth because I was born an American! I get to freely partake of an education (the best in the world), I get to work outside a home that I own, I get to raise a family whatever size I choose, I get to read whatever I want, go wherever I want , do whatever  I want.  I get to enjoy religious and political freedom.
I get to be an AMERICAN and that my friends is something to be thankful for!
